This week, we are taking the time to recognize Carissa Wendt!

Carissa has been working at COBU for 1 year, with her anniversary this week! She came to us as an architect with 20 years of experience in a wide range of projects including small commercial, multifamily, and automotive projects. Outside of the office, she also serves on the board of The Association of Licensed Architects. Before, she was an architect, Carissa was attending art school and winning the East Dundee logo contest with her design that is still used today!

In her time at COBU, Carissa has had an immense impact on the COBU team and the work that we do. She is a project architect working on many of our educational, commercial and retail projects, which involves traveling all over the country. She enjoys problem solving with clients and coworkers, along with mentoring those who are just starting their architectural journey. She is a great resource for the younger professionals to learn from. She hopes to be a big part of the growth of COBU and work to expand our commercial projects as she continues.
In her free time, Carissa loves to spend time with her 5 siblings and large loving family. In her many travels, she has felt like a hobbit while hiking in the Redwood National Forest with her sister, explored Northern France, and taken fun trips with her friends. When she isn’t traveling, she is carving pumpkins, expanding her Halloween Lego town, riding her bike, or relaxing with her cat and a cup of coffee.

We are so excited to celebrate Carissa’s one-year anniversary with us at COBU. She is such an amazing team member, and we are truly grateful to work with her!
