August 5th marks COBU’s 6-year anniversary!
In 2018 our founding partners, Jay and Justin, started the firm with the goal of using their combined past experience in the construction industry to provide high quality drawings and service to their clients. What was once two architects, has grown to a team of seventeen, working together to design award-winning projects.
This year has been a busy one full of new experiences, opportunities, and team members. Our team is our greatest asset and we are thankful for everyone’s enthusiasm in keeping COBU growing towards the future.
We connected!
We have joined important organizations to further engage with our community. Our team is actively involved in various organizations including the Association of Licensed Architects, Building Industry Association of Greater Chicago, Elgin Area Chamber, and International Code Council to name a few.
We learned!
From lunch and learns to conferences, our team members took every opportunity to learn, including earning self-certification for permits in Chicago. The building industry is always evolving, and our aim is to improve the quality of our designed spaces for people and the environment.
We grew!
Our team’s numbers have grown, many having joined us in just the past year. Whether they are just starting their career or bring years of experience, we are excited to have them at COBU!
We moved!
As we grow, so does our need for more office space. Our office is designed as an open studio and we believe having everyone in one space is instrumental for collaboration and individual growth; it’s better for our projects and our team.
We celebrated!
From grand openings to grand holidays, we celebrated as a team! There is a lot of hard work that happens in our office every day, so it’s good to celebrate our client’s projects and our team’s milestones.
