This Friday, we are highlighting and acknowledging our team member Iwona Miasek.

Iwona has always had a passion to create, making structures with whatever materials she had available: sticks, blankets, paper, cardboard, candy, etc.  One of her high school teachers encouraged her to become an architect, which led Iwona to attend the University of Hartford where she earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Architectural Studies.

Iwona has over 20 years of experience in the architectural field. Her prior experience includes both new and renovated custom residential projects. Since joining us at COBU, Iwona has worked on design and construction documents for both local and national clients.  Project types have included single family homes, multi-family residential, and mixed use.

Outside of the office, Iwona is a dedicated parent to two amazing kids, whose joy and well-being are at the center of everything she does. Beyond parenting, she is passionate about cooking and enjoys experimenting with new recipes in the kitchen.

When not in the kitchen, Iwona can often be found in the gym, engaging in weightlifting sessions that not only build strength but also foster discipline and determination. The act of pushing personal boundaries and achieving fitness goals empowers her both physically and mentally.

One of Iwona’s greatest joys is traveling to new destinations and exploring the world’s diverse cultures, landscapes, cuisines, and architecture. The thrill of discovering unfamiliar places, meeting new people, and immersing herself in different environments fuels her sense of adventure and curiosity. She also has a deep affinity for water, whether it is the calming presence of the ocean, the rush of a river, or the tranquility of a lake. Water serves as a source of relaxation, inspiration, and rejuvenation for her, providing a sense of peace and connection to the natural world.

Thanks for being a great team player Iwona, we are excited to have you on our team!
