This Friday, we are celebrating Tamsan Mora’s recent promotion to Job Captain!

In 2019, Tamsan moved to Illinois after earning her Bachelor of Architecture degree from the University of Arkansas. Originally from rural Arkansas, her education gave her opportunities to travel and explore her interests, culminating in an honors thesis focus on affordable housing.

She joined COBU’s team and began her career first with residential work: townhomes, production houses, and custom residences. Over the years her work has expanded to include commercial build-outs, multi-family, mixed-use, and adaptive reuse. Tamsan enjoys working on any project that may come her way and always finds something new to learn. Her range of experience from design through construction administration has proved helpful to her as she navigates the Architect Registration Examination.

Outside of work, Tamsan stays busy keeping involved in the community. She is an Associate Director on the Association of Licensed Architects’ Board of Directors. She heads up YALA, which seeks to encourage participation from the next generation of architects through mentoring and casual networking opportunities.

Tamsan is also the President of the JOURNEYS’ Young Professionals Board. YPB organizes events and participates in fundraisers that benefit JOURNEYS | The Road Home, a non-profit organization that provides shelter and social services to people in Suburban Cook County who are experiencing homelessness or housing insecurity. Tamsan hopes her passion for community engagement continues to flourish with her chosen profession.

Congratulations Tamsan, we are so excited to see your career continue to grow at COBU!
